Mission Statement:  RooBexLeo(RBL) is a visionary performing arts group concentrated in dance.  We aspire to create a production where two distinct forms of artistic expression share the stage, HipHop and Musical Theatre.  With HipHop and Funk as the primary dance styles, RBL intends on pushing the boundaries of performing arts by fusing street style with modern theatre to tell a story through the physical communication of music.  Currently, RBL is developing a large corps of dancers and instructing dance in New York and New Jersey.  Future goals include establishing a performing arts training facility  for those who are fueled by the passion of dance, music, and the arts.

     The Origins: RooBexLeo is a concept and vision created by Jon Rua.  Jon Rua strives to utlize the very differences in artistic expression to bring about the striking similarities within people.  The simlilarities that echo from stories told from the past to the present.  Stories told by people, myths, history, legends, movies, plays, books, etc.  Ones that make you smile, laugh, cry, think; stories that affect you so emotionally that you begin to have an introverted persepective.  The passion of a dancer's form of expression is no different than that of a writer, singer, actor, poet, painter, or any other dancer form of expression.  Therefore the art of HipHop/Funk dance can and will be redirected to communicate stories that all people can relate to.  
    A story is still the same story regardless of the language spoken.   This would not be a HipHop musical, rather a story that is told through a new language.  A language emcompassed with various music genres, the dance styles of HipHop/Funk, and a story all can relate to.  A language that will grab the attention of any listener.
